The Bank Holding Company will host a Fall Digital Symposium on October 5-8, 2020, featuring top industry experts, who will speak on topics relevant to the industry: Mergers & acquisitions, profitability and regulation. The Symposium also offers an economic and political outlook.
The Fall Digital Symposium opens on Monday, Oct. 5, with Curtis Carpenter and Kirk Hovde, both of The Hovde Group, who will examine the M&A landscape in the COVID-19 era. Following their presentation, there will be a panel discussion featuring bankers who have been active acquirers. Sharing their insights are Greg Kistler, Central Bancshares, Inc, Muscatine, Iowa; Mike Daniels, Nicolet Bancshares, Inc., Green Bay, Wis., and Peter Johnson, Eagle Bancorp., Helena, Mont.
On Tuesday, Oct. 6, the Fall Digital Symposium focuses on profitability, featuring 30 minute presentations by Tom Hershberger or Cross Financial, Tim Koziek of Baker Tilly and Jon Hendry of Alerus Financial.
Wednesday’s 90-minute regulatory panel is designed to explore issues bankers need to be alert to during the pandemic. Weighing in are Christine Gaffney of the Federal Reserve Bank of Minneapolis, James LaPierre, of the FDIC, Brian James of the OCC, and Max Zappia, Deputy Commissioner of Commerce for the state of Minnesota.
The BHCA Fall Digital Symposium wraps up on Thursday, Oct. 8 with two perspectives about the future. KC Mathews of UMB Financial will provide his economic outlook and Hamline University Political Scientists Dr. David Schultz offers his take on the political landscape one month before the national election.
